How to replace the 2.5" HDD ribbon cable? (NUC11PAHi7)?

My Intel NUC 11 (PAHi7) has a dislodged ribbon cable from the main board and it has been damaged I was wondering if this is fixable and if so where to get an up to spec ribbon cable?

Since Asus took over the support for Intel NUCs they don't do expired-warranty-repairs only one-for-one swaps for Intel products under warranty in HKSAR.

Hi @chopard

Check if the flex cable has a part number on it and if so search online for the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.

According to this link the part number is 14-513-000102 (other supplier examples only)

The part number location is shown in the 2nd mini image of the part on the left (select the image and then zoom in)

I had a look at my own damaged ribbon cable and double checked the part number. It is as you said … 14-513-000102 and JSE 201226

Thanks for the links buying it from Amazon US is actually cheaper than Tao Bao.

I was so disappointed when Asus HK said they didn't do repairs (at least not for the Intel branded NUCs)

The replacement part 14-513-000102 from Amazon US arrived, I replaced the old connector and ribbon with ease, I can see my 2.5" HDD again.

The only difficulty I encountered was figuring out which way the ribbon cable fit into the socket on the motherboard: blue tab faced the middle of the mainboard.

So thanks to jayeff the correct part was ordered and installed and things are working great again.

Thanks for the detailed response, I too thought it was a simple ribbon cable replacement, though it appears the entire part including the sata 3 connector needs to be replaced.
